Marianna Van Life in Canada isn’t over yet — we’ve simply changed province, and we can’t wait to explore the hidden gems of New Brunswick. Often considered just a place to “pass through” on the way from Nova Scotia to Quebec, we’re sure this province has something beautiful in store for us.
After a sleepless night in Truro, caused by some mischievous ducks, we get back on the road and make a stop that truly shocks us. We decide to visit one of Canada’s most famous outdoor stores — it’s enormous and packed with interesting gear, but unfortunately also filled with mounted and taxidermied wildlife. Our mood shifts instantly, and we don’t stay for long. This, too, is part of local culture — discovering something new — and we’re not here to judge.
Luckily, autumn is in full bloom, and we’re instantly rewarded by the incredible colors of the nature surrounding us. From above, our drone reveals an astonishing perspective — the trees almost look unreal, and stepping into this forest feels like being wrapped in a warm, golden-orange light.
Hidden Gems in New Brunswick: Minto
As we continue our journey, we almost stumble upon Minto by chance — a small hidden gem that immediately wins us over. After soaking in a bit of the Canadian Halloween spirit, we head into the wilderness, following a trail that leads us through truly spectacular natural pools. Along the way, we come across mushrooms and cross sections of the path that put our hiking boots to the test.
Bear season isn’t over yet, and we’re not equipped with bear spray at this point, but we’ll do our best to explore the hidden gems of New Brunswick safely and responsibly.
Back from our hike, we fire up the stove to try a local product that doesn’t quite live up to our expectations, but ends up making us rethink other familiar foods that are often overlooked back home in Italy.
